Rating: 2 Adequate Discussion of Some Aspects of Dice Control All Reviews
While the reviewers who have pointed out that this book is sloppily done and that such sloppiness is suspect in someone who defines a theory, the book does discuss certain aspects of dice control fairly well. The problem with the recommendations in the book center around how Mr. Kononenko states that shooting from the end of the table is the best position for controlling the dice. Why shoot from so far away? That makes no sense whatsoever.
His betting style is also highly suspect as he recommends bets with high house edges. You would have to be a dice magician to be able to win over large house edges. Now there may be some people out there, such as the great Dominator, who can overcome those edges but one should not recommend bad bets to new shooters. It's playing with fire.
Is Kononenko's book the first book or article on the subject of dice control? No. There have been several before this including Scoblete, Gollehon, Feinberg and Sharpshooter's articles in gaming magazines. The reviewer who cites Stanford Wong as a great dice authority obviously doesn't know that Mr. Wong took a Golden Touch Craps dice control class and is a recent convert to dice control thanks to Golden Touch Craps. For years he was skeptical until he came under the tutelage of that group. Then he realized that controlling the dice was possible.
Citing Heavy as a great dice authority is a joke and makes one wonder who Mr. Stevens really is. My guess is he is someone that knows the guy really, really, really well.
This is a two-star book that despite its crudity has some interesting points. It is nowhere near as good as Get the Edge at Craps by Sharpshooter, which is a truly revolutionary work, and, of course, it can't touch the work of Scoblete.
