Rating: 5 American casino guide book
I had such a good exprience buying books. I bought 3 books, and was able to save alot on shipping and handling. It was free. I would buy again. It came really fast, and they sent me a notice when it was shipped. So, I knew when they were coming. Thank you again, for making my purchase without any hassle. |
Rating: 3 Basic information, nothing more.
This book will save you time but offers nothing more.
Was hoping that more effort was spent on the personallity of each casino rather than basic information that can be found in minutes on the web.
In fairness, the writer never claims the book would offer an opinion of each establishment... My mistake!
Save your money and do the web work yourself. |
Rating: 5 Best book on casino's
I love this book and buy the new version every year. The coupons are great and I have learned about all the casino's in the US. It is very informative. And very reasonably priced. |
Rating: 5 Best Places to Play
The 'American Casino Guide' is a valuble resource for quickly locating the best places to gamble. Why waste your time checking out places that don't offer you the best games and are merely looking to rip you off? This book can save you a lot of leg work, aggravation and money.
For this book to be of any real use to you, you need to read it carefully, make notes as you go and read between the lines. The group who assembled this guide apparently wanted to be very careful to avoid offending any of the casino owners or operators. The information you need is all there, but it needs some interpretation, and you will have to use some judgement about the games you play.
Although their information on how to play the various games is essentially sound, they don't really distinguish between games that are worth playing and those that will eat your lunch. For that kind of information, you should read some of the books that have a more critical point of view, such as: 'How to Gamble at the Casinos Without Getting Plucked Like a Chicken' by James Harrison Ford or 'Getting the Best of It' by David Sklansky.
Although you can develop the information that this book offers on your own, buying and reading this book will be money and time well spent. Just one visit to a casino that doesn't give you the best odds can cost a lot more than the price of this book.

Rating: 5 Great Book
We live in the Las Vegas area & could only be considered modest gamblers yet feel the book well worth owning. We buy several using them primarily when having visitors, an incentive to visit the many casinos for dining, shows & maybe some free slot play for your friends when they sign up for the players card. They are always impressed! |
Rating: 5 If you are going to gaming sites, buy this book.
The coupons are great, two for ones, etc. on food, rooms and entertainment. The book also suggests the best ways to gamble, if there is such a thing. Well worth the money. |
Rating: 5 NOT just a compiled list of addresses and phone numbers!
This book was much more than what I had expected! There are almost 200 pages of useful information on gambling, tips, strategies, best bets, etc. They don't just rehash the rules on how to play the casino games...but actually cover the proper winning techniques in detail (the things you need to know). They cover almost all the games...Slot clubs, Video Poker, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Baccarat. They also cover comps and lots of other tips to save you money on your overall expenses (all-right...more money for gambling!). The price is cheap considering all the information that is packed in to this book. |
Rating: 3 Not very useful
The book contains a directory of every casino in the U.S. with address, phone numbers, etc... Nothing you can't already find on the Internet. It also contains some articles on gambling, most of which are on the book's free web page site. There are coupons, but they're mostly from older, second rate casinos and are of marginal value. You can find the exact same coupons in the free local magazines in that city. |
Rating: 5 Pays For Itself
Sure, you can find some of the info on the web, but surely the free coupons (especially the buffet) will pay for the book several times over. And the coupons aren't just for 'over the hill' casino's......I was very pleased with the coupons included in the book. |
Rating: 5 The first and best book on all things casinos around.
This book details the ins and outs of the world of casinos. It will turn you from novice to professional in a matter of days. The American Casino Guide is a must read for the casual casino tourist and the experienced regular. A one of a kind original. |
Rating: 5 The informative Gambling guide!
For a novice like myself, this was just the book I was looking for. Intricate details on every casino in every state.....from the price of the rooms, to the price of the buffet! A must have! |
Rating: 5 Very informative and right on target
This book is very interesting and informative. The book will easily pay for itself for anyone who visits a casino to gamble. After having read numerous other books on the subject of casino gambling, this book stands out as the best that I have read. |
